FALLING: A WAKE Photo by Rob Shannon

"For a long time afterwards, you will remember moments from the play and at the right time relate them to your personal life. That’s good theater."

Stageworks/Hudson
a brief history

In February 2004, Stageworks acquired a 40,000 square foot warehouse through the kind and extremely generous donation of Richard Katzman and Kaz, Inc.

Believed to have originally been a candlestick making facility, then later a fly-paper factory, the original brick building is over 100 years old.

When Mr. Katzman's grandfather, Maximillian, bought the building in 1959, it was enlarged to house an international manufacturing plant.

In August 2004, only four months after acquiring the old Kaz building, and with the help of Assemblyman Patrick Manning and Hudson Mayor Rick Scalera, Stageworks proudly opened it's doors with its inaugural season in it's new home, a theater named for Mr. Katzman's grandparents, The Max and Lillian Katzman Theater.

In February of 2004, Stageworks relocated to Hudson, converting an unused warehouse into a live performance space.

In an amazingly short four months, the conversion was complete and Stageworks was ready to bring high quality performances to the community.

Stageworks/Hudson's Max and Lillian Katzman theater is a state of the art 99 seat theater.

We invite you to enjoy the high quality professional live performances Stageworks has become known for.
